The Rested Teacher

An opportunity to rest, regulate, and leave rejuvenated.

________

Every day, teachers and school staff give their hearts to others — nurturing, managing, and guiding our next generation of thinkers, leaders, and creators. And yet, they do so with new school, state, and community demands being added to their plates than their plates can fit.

According to Gallup (2022), 44% of U.S. public school teachers report feeling “always” or “very often” burnt out — the highest burnout rate of any profession in the nation. This level of chronic stress impacts not only educators’ health and joy, but the emotional atmosphere of entire classrooms, communities, and societies.

What to Expect 💭

A 60-minute restorative experience to help you release physical and mental stress, tension, come back into connection with your body, and regulate your nervous system through deep guided meditation and sound.

We believe that teachers deserve to be cared for just as much as they care for others. When educators are calm, grounded, and replenished they not only find more satisfaction in their profession but their students feel safer to learn, explore, and thrive too.

The Flow ࿓

  1. Warm Welcome — A brief opening to arrive, breathe, and settle. (With delicious tea)

  2. Guided Decompression Meditation — Led by Marcello, this meditation invites deep rest, nervous system regulation, and a sensation of renewed vitality. No experience needed, come rest.

  3. Sound Healing Experience — A deeply relaxing soundscape designed to bring further depth to our restorative decompression meditation, held by Elizabeth Voytershark.

  4. Closing Circle — A simple reflection and optional sharing to integrate calm and connection.

  5. Departure — Enjoy a moment of quiet connection before returning to your day.

A Note 📝

Within just one year working as a paraprofessional, I experienced firsthand the intensity that school life places on the human mind, body, and nervous system — the constant demands, emotional caregiving, and limited time to truly breathe and prioritize your own well-being.

May this be an opportunity for those of you who feel like just a little space and time can support you in taking a breath for a moment and feeling a little bit better within yourself. This hour is meant to leave you feeling restored, to remind you that you’re deeply cared for and appreciated, and to provide you the tools and the internal knowing that you could feel relaxed (even during the school year).

Donation Details (Optional) 🎁

This is a donation-based event — participation is free, with optional donations gratefully accepted. All contributions will be shared equally between:

1. Raven’s Wing Yoga, for generously donating their space.

2. Project Oak’s EQ Programs, supporting mindfulness and emotional literacy programs for children, families, and schools.

This event is part of Project Oak’s community wellness initiative — supporting educators’ mental and emotional health as a cornerstone for student wellbeing. By giving teachers and staff the space to rest and regulate, we aim to create calmer classrooms, stronger relationships, and more connected communities.

Thank you for all that you do. May we support ourselves together.

Many blessings.
